Random thoughts:
1) Listening to NPR this morning I heard a political adviser for John McCain/Sarah Palin state that they had Barack Obama exactly where they wanted him...6 percentage points ahead in the polls. What kind of sense does that make? His reasoning was that Obama was a notoriously weak finisher in his campaigns and McCain a notoriously strong one. Given that knowledge I still can't imagine that being behind Obama by 6 percentage points is anything other than bad.
2) Another story detailed the struggles of a Boy Scout camp trying to get back on its feet after being devestated by a tornado. That, in and of itself, is not funny. But the following line was quite hysterical:
"More than 4oo little boys were very excited to once again pitch their tents this weekend"
Come on. Seriously? That's just begging to be taken in the wrong context. BEGGING.
